Intro to Lead Climbing
Looking Glass The foundation of technical lead climbing is each climber's ability to set solid, safe protection.
We want you to experience the exhilaration of being on "the sharp end" of a rope with the confidence and knowledge gained from our lead climbing seminar.

This intensive 2 day course is designed to introduce lead climbing to individuals with proficient top-roping anchor skills.
We discuss and practice setting a variety of passive and active protection. Students design multi-directional anchors, belay stations, and work on climber communication, as well as other traditional free climbing skills.
As desire and ability allows, you have opportunities to practice leading (with the safety of a top-rope) before attempting more advanced climbs.

Proper instruction in lead climbing is essential for confidence and climber safety.
ASRC prepares you for a lifetime of summits.
