Capitol Reef National Park
Capitol Reef National Park
Emily, Dave and Pierre (Adam
had a WFR recert in Salt Lake) went to climb some routes next to and within view of the visitor’s center. Pierre led the fist climb. It was rated 5.8 and probably about 25 meters in height. We
traversed over to the top of the second climb and set it up on TR. Thank
goodness because it was rated 5.11 and the bottom section was super hard. Lay
backing on a thin crack with no feet makes it hard to place gear. Both of these
climbs have bolts at the top. Important because you can’t place bolts or leave
anything on the rocks within the park unless it was before the ban.
